Malta has been of strategic importance in the Mediterranean since seafarers began trading. This tiny nation continues to punch well above its weight within the superyacht industry.
In 2008 Palumbo made a pitch to buy all 6 of the docks, running 4 of the largest for ship repair, and the remaining 2 purely for yachts. Palumbo acquired the massive facilities in 2011.
